ESI Technology is preparing to introduce the Portable Pressure Testing System (PPTS), a compact, all-in-one solution designed to make pressure testing and data acquisition easier, wherever the job takes you.

Combining ESI’s GD4200-USB digital pressure transmitters with an integrated touchscreen computer and pre-installed ESI-USB© software, the PPTS brings measurement, monitoring and analysis together in one convenient system.

Housed in a rugged, portable carry case, it offers engineers a flexible solution for a wide range of testing environments.

High-Performance Pressure Measurement, Wherever You Need It

The PPTS delivers pressure measurement from vacuum up to 5,000 bar. At its heart are ESI’s GD4200-USB digital pressure transmitters, which use advanced Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) sensing technology.

This technology provides excellent long-term stability and performance across a wide temperature range. With measurement precision greater than 1 in 10,000, the system supports high-resolution pressure monitoring for demanding test and measurement tasks.

Each system comes configured to suit the user’s requirements, with selectable pressure ranges and process connections.

Built-In Software for Real-Time Data Analysis

The PPTS features an integrated 13.3-inch touchscreen running a Windows-based mini-PC. ESI-USB© software comes pre-installed, so users can start capturing and analysing pressure data without needing a separate computer.

The software provides real-time visualisation, recording and analysis. Users can also access features such as leak testing, virtual differential pressure measurement, configurable alarm levels and automatic test start and stop times.

For dynamic pressure measurements, the system supports user-selectable sample rates of up to 1,000 Hz. This allows engineers to monitor pressure changes and record data directly through the integrated interface.

A Built-In Chart Recorder for Clearer Pressure Analysis

One of the standout features of the ESI PPTS is its integrated chart recorder, built directly into the ESI-USB software. Unlike ESI’s standard pressure transmitter setups, the PPTS allows users to view pressure readings in a circular chart recorder format on the integrated touchscreen. This provides an alternative way to visualise pressure data during testing, helping engineers monitor changes and review measurement behaviour in real time. With this specialist feature included as part of the complete system, the PPTS offers an additional level of convenience for pressure testing, without the need for a separate chart recording solution.

Flexible Testing with Up to 16 Pressure Inputs

Flexibility is central to the PPTS design. Two GD4200-USB pressure transmitters are built in as standard, with pressure ranges selected to suit the application.

The system also includes 14 additional USB ports, allowing users to connect further compatible transmitters and monitor up to 16 pressure inputs simultaneously.

This makes the PPTS suitable for both straightforward pressure checks and more complex, multi-channel testing. Its modular transmitter design also allows sensors to be removed for recalibration or to change pressure ranges.

Designed for Portability and Practical Use

The PPTS combines its measurement and analysis capabilities in a durable, portable case. Weighing approximately 10.2 kg, it is designed to be transported between testing locations.

An internal rechargeable battery provides up to three hours of operation with 16 sensors connected, or up to eight hours when idle. An external AC power pack is also supplied, giving users the flexibility to power the system from the mains when required.

Built-in Wi-Fi adds connectivity, while the integrated touchscreen keeps key functions close at hand.
