NO COMPROMISE NECESSARY!

The team at Industrial Process News is particularly proud to select ESI Technology Limited as their preferred Pressure Measurement Solutions ?Company of the Month.?

For more than 30 years, ESI Technology Limited have been designing and manufacturing high quality pressure transducers and transmitters for a wide variety of customers ? from standard industrial products to bespoke sensor solutions.

PRESSURE MEASUREMENT SOLUTIONS OF THE MONTH!

Since their establishment in 1985, the Wrexham-based company have been very focused on specialist applications using state-of-the-art sensing technologies including the innovative Silicon-on-Sapphire strain gauge. Due to their expertise in such a niche field, the team are able to analyse and interpret customer specific requirements and create a product that meets, and more often than not exceeds, the exact needs of the application in order to eradicate any compromise from the customer.

Paul Griffiths, Commercial Manager, explained in brief: ?Apart from offering a vast and reliable standard range of pressure transducers, we differ from our competitors by supporting customers with comprehensive after-sales, re-calibration and repair services. We believe that our high levels of customer retention is due to the fact that our clients find us approachable and we are always ready to advise and support them after the product is delivered.

?Also, our ability to design bespoke solutions, often just minor adjustments to standard products, is a major benefit to customers in certain applications, meaning no compromise is necessary. In addition, where required, ESI have the capabilities to take on major design projects and, using our extensive in-house pressure and environmental test equipment, create prototype sensors complete with qualification and first article test reports.?

SILICON-ON-SAPPHIRE TECHNOLOGY

The most outstanding developments from ESI are the Silicon-on-Sapphire sensor technology and the GS4200-USB digital pressure transducer. Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) sensor technology has redefined the performance capability of their products. ?This technology demonstrates excellent insulation properties, unbeatable performance with high overpressures with virtually no hysteresis, superb repeatability and excellent chemical compatibility,? added Paul.

The GS4200-USB is a unique product in the pressure measurement arena. It makes pressure measurement simple and portable, reducing the need for expensive data loggers. It has all the advantages of SOS, and is available in ranges up to 4000bar. The GS4200-USB software is supplied and features the capability of measuring multiple inputs and also customised test certificate generation.

Regarding the future, Paul concluded by saying: ?Our programme of investment will continue to be a theme for many years to come, and as a result ESI will enhance existing sensor designs and strive to provide new innovations in the pressure measurement field.?

The Importance of Intrinsic Safety in Instrumentation for the Mining Industry

Intrinsic safety (IS) is a critical design and operational principle in instrumentation used within the mining industry. Mines are often classified as hazardous areas due to the presence of flammable gases, combustible dust, or reactive substances. Intrinsically safe instrumentation is engineered to operate with energy levels below those capable of igniting such volatile environments, ensuring that safety and operational efficiency are not compromised.
