Mechanical Design Engineer/ CAD Specialist

£35,000 - £45,000 PA

THE ROLE

ESI Technology is a leading manufacturer and designer of pressure transducers and transmitters which are supplied to all areas of industry. Our customer base extends from the UK to worldwide. We offer excellent career prospects for a mechanical design engineer/CAD specialist.

You will work fulltime within a committed and supportive multi-disciplined engineering department. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated mechanical engineer to be involved in the design of new products, and the development and maintenance of existing product lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

3D CAD modelling and mechanical design of machined parts, components and assemblies
Preparing 2D drawings for manufacture, including all dimensions, tolerances, finishes
Administration of 3D CAD system and direct model management software
Hands on mechanical development, prototype design, procurement and testing
Design verification and validation
Ensure that technical files are created/maintained and assist with product compliance
Product release, revision control and hand-over to production team
Product documentation, such as bill of materials, specifications, technical/test reports
Communication with suppliers to ensure solutions are easily transferred into production
Provide technical support to other arears of the business as required

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

At least 2 years of experience working in mechanical design
University Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar

It is required that the candidate must be a capable 3D CAD operator, ideally experienced with PTC CREO Elements/Direct Modelling or similar.

Previous experience and understanding of the product integration of electronics, printed circuit boards and instrumentation would be an advantage.

The chosen candidate must have good interpersonal skills, and be able to collaborate with other designers and members of the team. They must also be IT literate and proficient in all standard Microsoft programs.
